OUR FOCUS IS PROVIDING UPPER ENDOSCOPIES AND COLONOSCOPIES

Do you suffer from upper or lower abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, bloating, constipation, or diarrhea? Have you struggled with constant heartburn, have trouble swallowing, or live with a digestive disease? Do you have a family history of cancer related to the gastrointestinal tract? Are you over 50 and in need of a screening?

If you answered “yes” to any one of these questions, or even if you’re simply wanting to learn more about a routine colonoscopy, GI North can answer all of your questions and address your concerns.

a Upper Endoscopy (EGD)
An upper endoscopy, or esophagogastroduodenoscopy, is also known as an EGD for short. This is an examination of the esophagus, stomach, and first portion of the small intestine, also called the duodenum. The procedure is performed with a flexible instrument called an endoscope.
An upper endoscopy is used to diagnose a number of conditions of the upper gastrointestinal tract, including acid reflux, Barrett’s esophagus, hiatal hernia, peptic ulcer gastrtis, H. Pylori infection, esophageal varices, and upper GI bleeding.
Your physician will be able to make treatment recommendations based on the endoscopy findings.

a colonoscopy

A colonoscopy is a procedure in which the lining of the colon is inspected with a flexible instrument called a colonoscope. Your physician can visualize the lining on a television monitor while you are comfortably sedated, and can use the findings of the procedure to help with diagnoses and treatment of a number of diseases affecting the colon.
